Every time people come through this door and try my food, I feel very, very proud because every time I cook my food, I do it with passion, with love. I always say, ‘I don't sell food, I create friends.’
Who taught you how to cook?
Basically, if you’re Salvadoran, you have to know how to cook because in our culture, you had to cook. I learned from my mom. She told me when I was a kid—she said, “You need to know how to cook ’cause you’re gonna need it one day.” So that day is today.
